1. Define cardiovascular system.

দেহের যে system দ্বারা দেহে রক্ত সঞ্চালিত হয় তাকে cardiovascular system বলে এই system, heart (cardio) এবং blood vessel দ্বারা গঠিত বলে একে cardiovascular systemবলে। এই systemকে circulatory system বা blood circulation systemও বলাহয়। Knowledge about Cardiovascular System is most essential for Cardiovascular Nursing.

Cardiac chamber

Heart এর অভ্যন্তরে যে chamber (ফাঁকা স্থান) গুলিঅবস্থিত তাদেরকে cardiac chamber বলে। There are 4 cardiac chambers in human and animal hearts.

Names of cardiac chamber

• Right Atrium (RA)
• Left Atrium(RA)
• Right ventricle (RV)
• Left ventricle (LV)

Cardiac valve

Heart অভ্যন্তরে যে valve গুলি অবস্থিত তাদেরকে Cardiac valve বলে। valve হচ্ছে একমুখি দরজা ।স্বাবাভিক অবস্থায় একটি valve এর মধ্য দিয়ে রক্ত এক দিকে যেতে পারে ।

Names of Cardiac Valve

• Tricuspid valve
• Bicuspid valve
• Pulmonary valve
• Aortic valve

Location of cardiac valves

• Tricuspid valve RA এবং RV chamber এর মাঝখানে অবস্থিত
• Bicuspid valve LA এবং LV chamber এর মাঝখানে অবস্থিত
• Pulmonary valve Pulmonary trunk এর ভিতওে অবস্থিত )
• Aortic valve Aorta এর ভিতওে অবস্থিত

Right heart

Heart এর যে অংশে RA এবং RV chamber দুইটি অবস্থিত সেই অংশকে Right heart বলে।

Left heart

Heart এর যে অংশে LA এবং LV chamber দুইটিঅবস্থিত সেই অংশকে Left heart বলে।

Function of Right heart

• Body থেকে রক্ত সংগ্রহ করা
• Lungs এ রক্ত প্রেরন করা

Function of Left heart

• Lungs থেকে রক্ত সংগ্রহ করা
• Body তে রক্ত প্রেরন করা

Blood vessel

যে সকল নালীর ভিতর দিয়ে দেহে রক্ত চলাচল কওে তাদেরকে blood vessel বলে।

Classification of blood vessel

Blood vessel তিন প্রকার।

1) Artery (ধমনী)

ii) Vein (শিরা)

ili) Capillary (কৈশিকনালী)

Classification of arteries

Artery চারপ্রকার:

ⅰ) Large artery

ii) Medium artery

iii) Small artery

iv) Arteriole

Classification veins

Vein চারপ্রকার :

i) Large vein

ii) Medium vein

iii) Small vein

iv) Venule

Arteriole

সবচেয়ে চিকন artery কে arteriole বলে। Arteriole এর সাথে capillary সংযুক্ত থাকে।

Venule

সবচেয়ে চিকন vein কে venule বলে। Venule এর সাথে capillary সংযুক্ত থাকে।

Heart failure.

প্রতি মিনিটে দেহে যে পরিমান রক্ত supply প্রয়োজন heart যদি সেই পরিমান রক্ত supply দিতে না পাওে তাকে heart failure বলে।

Symptoms of heart failure

i) দূর্বলতা, পরিশ্রান্ত ও ক্ষুধামন্দা

ii) পা ফুলে যাওয়া ও পেটে পানি জমে যাওয়া

iii) Abdominal discomfort

iv) ঠান্ডা হাত

৬) দূর্বল পালস

vi) শ্বাসকষ্ট ও কাশি

vii) Systolic murmur (অস্বাভাবিক systolic

sound)

Blood pressure.

দেহের ভিতরে রক্ত চলাচলের সময় রক্ত নালীর দেওয়ালে রক্ত যে চাপ প্রয়োগ করে তাকে

blood pressure বলে।

Classification of blood pressure

Blood pressure চারপ্রকার

i) Systolic blood pressure

ii) Diastolic blood pressure

iii) Pulse pressure

iv) Mean blood pressure

Systolic blood pressure

Heart সংকোচিত অবস্থায় অর্থাৎ ventricle সংকোচিত অবস্থায় blood vessel এর wall এ যে pressure পাওয়া যায় তাকে systolic BP বলে।

Normal average systolic BP 120 mm of Hg

Diastolic blood pressure

Heart প্রসারিত অবস্থায় অর্থাৎ ventricle প্রসারিত অবস্থায় blood vessel wall এ যে pressure পাওয়া যায় তাকে diastolic BP বলে।

Normal average diastolic BP 80 mm of Hg

Pulse pressure

প্রতিটি pulse এর কারনে blood vessel এর wall এ যে পার্শ্ব চাপ পড়ে তাকে pulse pressure বলে।

Pulse pressure = systolic BP-diastolic BP = 120 mm of Hg-80 mm of Hg = 40 mm of Hg

Mean blood pressure (গড় রক্ত চাপ)

Diastolic BP এবং pulse pressure এর এক তৃতীয়াংশের যোগ ফলকে mean blood pressure বলে।

Mean BP = Diastolic BP + of pulse pressure = 80+ of 40 = 93 (normal) mm of Hg

Hypertension.

দেহের blood pressure যদি নরমালের চেয়ে বেশি হয় তবে তাকে hypertension বা high blood pressure বলে।

Classification of hypertension

Hypertension তিন প্রকার

i) Mild hypertension

ii) Moderate hypertension

iii) Severe hypertension

Hypotension.

দেহের blood pressure যদি নরমালের চেয়ে কম হয় তবে তাকে hypotension বলে।

Mild hypertension.

Systolic BP दणि 140-159 mm of Hg অথना diastolic BP 90-99 mm Hg হয় অথবা systolic এবং diastolic উভয় BP যদি উক্ত range এর মধ্যে হয় তবে তাকে mild hypertension বলে।

Treatment of mild hypertension

A single drug Anxiolytic/Beta-blocker/ Calcium channel blocker (according to heart rate). There is an important role of nurses in the emergency management of hypertension. Cardiovascular Nursing is a helpful subject for this purpose.

Moderate hypertension

Systolic BP যদি 160-179 mm of Hg অথবা diastolic BP 100-109 mm Hg হয় অথবা systolic এবং diastolic উভয় BP যদি উক্ত range এর মধ্যে হয় তবে তাকে moderate hypertension বলে।

Treatment of moderate hypertension

একটি drug দ্বারা BP control না হলে উপযুক্ত ২টি drug দিতে হবে তবে তা heart rate এর অবস্থা অনুযায়ী।
